The 5 Intelligences – Embracing a Paradigm Shift in Thinking

Welcome to the realm of organizational excellence through the 5 Intelligence tool—a transformative journey from knowledge to intelligence.

This paradigm shift in thinking challenges the traditional dichotomy between knowledge and intelligence, advocating for a dynamic and ever-evolving approach to knowledge application. One becomes intelligent when they do something with what they know!

A Dynamic Evolution: Redefining Knowledge and IntelligenceParadigm Shift in Thinking - Knowledge & Intelligence

At its core, this paradigm shift in thinking signifies a departure from the static notion of knowledge instilled during our schooling years. Instead, it champions a fluid understanding where knowledge is in constant flux, perpetually evolving with each application.

Through practical implementation, knowledge begets intelligence, sparking a continuous cycle of growth and discovery.

So you become intelligent about what you know by what you do! Does that make sense?

Embracing Unconventional Wisdom: The Onion PrincipleParadigm Shift in Thinking - The Onion Principle

Central to this transformation is the Onion Principle embedded within the 5 Intelligence tool—an organic and dynamic framework rooted in continuous learning and adaptation. This principle, represented by a spectrum of colors, serves as a guide for navigating the journey from familiarity to innovation. This is where the paradigm shift in thinking comes into expression. Your intelligence often comes from what you already know, not from extra.

However, you need to “peel off” the layers of what you think you know in which the system of the 5 intelligences will help you do just that.

From White to Green: Unveiling New HorizonsParadigm Shift in Thinking - White to Green

Here is a system that will unravel so much for you:

Starting with a blank canvas (White), organizations embark on a journey of introspection, reevaluating existing knowledge and practices, in which neutrality is essential and white is a neutral color which allows all the other colors painted upon it to be seen as they are.

This is the nature of facts, and the art of the white intelligence  is to have no bias about facts.

Through critical analysis and strategic thinking and application (Red), they challenge conventional wisdom. Next, is to seek an alignment of discovery of the governing principles of any situation (Blue).  In Yellow emotional intelligence is engaged to find out how the process so far feel to the participants and to see if any relevant aspects need to be added to shed more light on the process. This then culminates in the soliciting of diverse perspectives, exploration of new creative ideas and possibilities while embracing the unknown (as opposed to fearing it)  propelling individuals and organizations towards new innovative solutions (Green).

Pre-judgement, assumptions, and negativity must not enter the process.

A Life Example: Navigating the Journey from Green to WhiteParadigm Shift in Thinking - Child playing with Ball

An example will work best to explain this point:

Consider a child’s encounter with a new object, say a ball.

Initially unknown to the child (Green), the child then explores its properties, gets to know it, feel it, stick it in its mouth, essentially “welcoming it to its family”(Yellow) it then establishes safety parameters to make sure it doesn’t get hurt  (Blue). With this newfound knowledge and discovery, the ball becomes a source of preoccupation for the child as it examines its properties and finds out what it does and what the child can do with it (Red), integrating seamlessly into the child’s worldview of stock of reference (White) which it then can draw from whenever he/she plays again with the ball.

Harnessing the Power of Discovery: Green to White vs. White to GreenParadigm Shift in Thinking - Power of Discovery

“Green to White” embodies the quest for understanding, unraveling the essence and purpose of phenomena—a journey from novelty to familiarity.

Conversely, “White to Green” signifies introspection and adaptation, leveraging existing knowledge to uncover novel insights and solutions. Once this paradigm shift in thinking is established the possibilities are increased tremendously.
